READ MORE: Foo Fighters deliver the dopamine on the futureproof rock beast ‘Your Favorite Toy’ Back in 2024, a clip of Grohl performing the familiar dance alongside his daughter Harper spread far and wide on TikTok as part of a trend that was set up by the choreographer Kelley Heyer. Advertisement Yesterday (February 20), the two singers were both guests on The Graham Norton Show, and while they shared the sofa, Norton played the video and asked Charli for her review of his performance. Grohl admitted that he was not used to learning choreography as a member of Foo Fighters, and said that he had recorded the clip impromptu on the strict orders of his daughter, but nevertheless, Charli had some complimentary words. “You’re taking like an abstract approach”, she said diplomatically. “And that’s cool.” It became a ritual tradition during the ‘Brat’ tour for a big name to perform the dance while Charli played ‘Apple’, with Gracie Abrams taking the slot at her Glastonbury Other Stage show, while others to fill the role including Chappell Roan, Amelia Dimoldenberg and Charli’s husband and The 1975 drummer George Daniel. Recommended Elsewhere on the show, Foo Fighters gave a live debut to their new single ‘Your Favorite Toy’, the title track of their 12th studio album, which is set to be released on April 24 – pre-order here. Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears and Babydaddy also joined the Foos on backing vocals for the performance, while Grohl hinted that they may be returning to the UK after this summer for more live shows. For now, they have only announced two shows at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium for June, as part of a run of major European shows. Charli, meanwhile, was on the Norton show to promote her new film The Moment, a music industry satire and mockumentary loosely based on her ‘Brat’ tour. NME has awarded the film three stars and noted: “The Moment is too protracted and tonally uneven to work as a great mockumentary, but it has plenty of meme-worthy moments that TikTok will lap up. If that sounds like faint praise, well, just remember it was enough to make Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn a sensation back in 2023.” Advertisement Her soundtrack album to Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights has also gone in at Number One on the UK Albums Chart, the third chart-topping record of her career.
