CREDIT: Desiree Navarro/WireImage Bruce Campbell has announced that he has been diagnosed with cancer, describing it as “treatable” but not “curable”, and that he will be withdrawing from some professional commitments. The horror icon took to social media to share the message, writing: “Hi folks, when someone is having a health issue, it’s referred to as an ‘opportunity,’ so let’s go with that – I’m having one of those. It’s also called a type of cancer that’s ‘treatable’ not ‘curable.’ I apologize if that’s a shock – it was to me, too.” Advertisement He continued: “The good news is, I’m not gonna go into any more detail. I’m posting this because professionally, a few things will have to change — appearances and [fan conventions] and work in general need to take a back seat to treatment. The films made him a cult hero among fans of the horror genre. He has played the role in four movies, as well as the spin-off series Ash Vs. Evil Dead and several video games. Outside of the horror franchise, he is known for the movies Bubba Ho-Tep, Fargo (both the film and subsequent TV series), and Raimi’s Spider-man trilogy, in which he appeared in three key cameos.
