Read full story KOTA KINABALU: The number of flood victims in Sabah’s Beaufort district has dropped to 377 people as of 4pm on Monday (March 2).This is a vast improvement from several thousand evacuated to temporary relief centres over the past week.With the situation improving and almost back to normal, the displaced victims currently housed at the sole operating relief centre are expected to return home within a day or two.The recent wave of floods began on Feb 20.Initially, Kota Marudu, Pitas, Paitan, Sandakan, Beluran and surrounding areas were affected.Beaufort, Sipitang, Membakut, Sook and Tenom, among other places, were hit about five days later.More than 9,000 villagers were displaced across the state.No casualties have been reported.
