Kanlaon erupts; ashfall hits 40 Negros villages

BACOLOD CITY – Kanlaon Volcano on Negros Island erupted on Thursday afternoon, generating some 2,000 meters of plume above its crater, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
