Level 33 Entertainment is set to release filmmaker Scout Taylor-Compton’s Bring the Law theatrically in the U.S. and Canada on Feb. 27, when it will also be available on VOD, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. Brendan Fehr (The Night Shift), Nicky Whelan (Crescent City), Danielle Harris (Halloween) and Leah Pipes (The Originals) round out the cast for the indie film. Set in Los Angeles, Bring the Law centers on a veteran homicide detective (Fehr) assigned to lead a task force to bring down a notorious criminal syndicate. As the investigation progresses, he discovers corruption stemming from his own department. Josh Ridgway wrote the script, with the story credited to Daniel Figueiredo. “Stepping behind the camera on Bring the Law pushed me creatively in every way,” Taylor-Compton says. “It’s a grounded, character-driven crime thriller about power, consequence and how far someone will go to make things right.” Daemon Hillin and Carolina Brasil serve as producers, while Figueiredo is co-producer and composed the score. Level 33 acquired Bring the Law from Odyssey Motion Pictures, which is handling international sales. Rourke is known for such movies as The Wrestler and Iron Man 2, and his forthcoming features include 3 Days Rising and Hollywood Hustle. Facinelli, who starred in the Twilight franchise, is set to direct Ashley Greene and Seth Green in Grace Period.
