Oscar-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville‘s movie Man on the Run screened Wednesday at a London event ahead of its global streaming launch via Prime Video on Feb. 27. The Amazon MGM Studios documentary centers on McCartney’s life in the 1970s following the contentious breakup of the Beatles and includes his music success throughout the decade with the group Wings. The Hamnet actor is set to portray McCartney in director Sam Mendes’ forthcoming The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event, which is currently in production in the U.K. Sony Pictures will release the four-movie biopic project theatrically in April 2028, with each film focusing on a member of the Fab Four. Rounding out the cast are Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. Also attending the Man on the Run celebration were Noel Gallagher, Sharon Osbourne, Twiggy, Marcus Mumford and Paul’s children Stella McCartney and James McCartney. “I loved all the guys in the Beatles,” Paul McCartney told the crowd during an onstage conversation that followed the screening. “We had so much in common, and we were like a little magical foursome.” The Beatles’ songwriter, bassist and vocalist spurred laughter from the audience when he added about the band, which happens to be the biggest-selling music act of all time: “It was just a magic grouping, and we did OK.” Morgan Neville (left) and Paul McCartney attend the London screening for Man on the Run.
