Anthony Leo has joined the Irish outfit from Canada’s Aircraft Pictures, where he co-produced Oscar-nominated animated movie The Breadwinner with Cartoon Saloon. He takes over from MD Gerry Shirren who retired at the end of 2025 after 12 years with the company. Leo, who has been given a CEO role instead of MD, will oversee the strategic direction and continued growth of Cartoon Saloon – working alongside co-founders Tomm Moore, Nora Twomey and Paul Young to guide its development across feature films, television series, and emerging platforms.
