READ MORE: The biggest video game concerts you can’t miss in 2026 Post-rock group Son Lux have scored the trippy Everything Everywhere All At Once and scrappy MCU blockbuster Thunderbolts*, but the band’s Ryan Lott has also been working on the soundtrack to Bungie’s first-person shooter Marathon. Advertisement In recent months, early previews of the soundtrack have blown up on social media and inspired remixes from fans. An official taster EP was released last month and earlier this week, Lott teamed up with Poppy for the vibey Marathon anthem ‘In Death We’ve Just Begun’. Marathon launched yesterday (March 5) and now, the full soundtrack is available to stream. The 42 tracks are split across two albums – ‘Vol. One: Somewhere In The Heavens’ and ‘Vol. Two: They Are Waiting’. Check them out below: “To get in the ground level of a process of literally building worlds was really intoxicating,” said Lott in a behind the scenes clip. “Something that was really inspiring about the concept of the game was that you relinquish your human body for a ‘Runner’ shell. You hold onto your soul, you take you with you, but you leave your body behind. I thought, what better way to take the human voice, which is the soul of your person, and transform it into these playable instruments. Recommended “I love that feeling of [that world] being neon but crusty and falling apart at the same time. To me, that has a sound. I was inspired by these environments full of bugs that are half-mechanical and had escaped from the labs, things that create creaks or whispers,” he continued. “I’m looking for the emotion in every little thing, and ultimately that’s what it is – I’m painting with feelings.” Marathon launched yesterday and already has a “very positive” user review score on Steam. In other news, Microsoft has officially announced that the next-generation Xbox console is being developed under the codename Project Helix. The upcoming console will “lead in performance and play your Xbox and PC games,” said new Xbox boss Asha Sharma. The track, which was released around March 1, 2026, has been at the centre of growing criticism on social media and among local groups.According to the official summons issued on March 6, the case concerns allegations against Badshah—whose real name is Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia—over the wording used in the song. The notice has been addressed to the Superintendent of Police in Panipat, directing authorities to ensure the presence of all concerned parties during the hearing. The complaint was filed by Savita Arya, president of the Nari Tu Narayani Utthan Samiti in Panipat, along with Shiv Kumar, director of the Shiv Aarti India Foundation. The complainants have alleged that the lyrics in ‘Tateeree’ contain indecent vocabulary and objectify women and minors.Following the complaints, the commission initiated proceedings to examine the matter.Chairperson Renu Bhatia confirmed that the commission will hold a hearing on March 13, 2026, at 11:30 am. The proceedings are scheduled to take place at the Conference Hall at the DC Office in Panipat, with Bhatia presiding over the session.Commenting on the issue, Bhatia also questioned how the song managed to pass regulatory scrutiny.
