PETALING JAYA: Two foreign nationals were rescued after a double-storey terrace house caught fire in Taman Bayu Perdana, Klang, on Wednesday (Feb 18).Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the department received an emergency call at 4.39pm and fire engines from BBP Sri Andalas arrived at the scene nine minutes later.“The fire involved a 20x60sq ft Class C double-storey terrace house, with about 70% of the structure destroyed.“One male Bangladeshi, 27, did not suffer any injuries, while a 38-year-old Indonesian woman was given breathing assistance by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team at the scene,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 18).He added that both victims were successfully rescued by firefighters and the blaze was brought under control at 5.10pm.A total of 14 firefighters from BBP Sri Andalas and BBP Pelabuhan Klang were involved in the operation.The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still under investigation.
