She played in Dusseldorf, Copenhagen, Berlin, Paris and more in celebration of her third studio album ‘A Matter Of Time’, which dropped in August. Advertisement Last night (Wednesday March 4), she began the UK leg of the tour, playing a show at the Co-op Live in Manchester –just days after the 2026 BRIT Awards took place there. Like with the European dates, Laufey’s show was split into different ‘Acts’, with the first opening with ‘Clockwork’, ‘Lover Girl’, ‘Dreamer’ and more, while the second saw her put a heavier jazz spin on ‘Valentine’, ‘Fragile’, and Carmen Lombardo’s ‘Seems Like Old Times’. In ‘Act Three’, however, she mixed things up for the crowd in Manchester, and brought out film legend and jazz singer Jeff Goldblum as a special guest. View this post on Instagram He took to the stage after Laufey performed ‘Carousel’, ‘Forget-Me-Not’ and ‘Cuckoo Ballet’, and joined her for a rendition of Erroll Garner’s song ‘Misty’. Recommended As seen in footage from last night, Goldblum was smitten to be invited on stage by the singer, and told her that he thought she was “the greatest superstar on the planet, in my humble opinion”. Laufey went on to perform songs including ‘Promise’, ‘Goddess’ and ‘From The Start’ in ‘Act Four’, before wrapping up with ‘Sabotage’, and breaking out ‘How I Get’ and ‘Letter to My 13 Year Old Self’ in the encore. In a four-star review of ‘A Matter Of Time’, NME wrote: “‘A Matter Of Time’ is just as gorgeous as its predecessors, but this time, there’s more darkness shadowing the gleam. Sometimes that manifests in Laufey’s vocals or lyrics – over the bossa nova swing (and Clairo backing vocals) of ‘Mr. Eclectic’, she elegantly eviscerates men trying to ‘woo and win‘ her. ‘You think you’re so interesting,’ she sings with an audible eye roll and mocking smirk, putting pretentious posers who ‘think you’re so poetic / Quoting epics and ancient prose‘ firmly in their place.” NME also spoke to Laufey about the making of the album. “There are parts of me that come out in this album that I didn’t dare to put out in the last few,” she said. “The way the album’s sequenced is it starts with this hope and a little bit of fear of love – it’s a first date. And then as the album progresses, it falls more and more into anxiety, and falls apart.” As for Goldblum, the singer and actor attended the 2026 BRITs last weekend, and was spotted at the Universal afterparty alongside Sam Fender, Lola Young, Olivia Dean and more. He also got fans talking when he shared that he quit “eating meat” after filming Wicked: For Good. Collin D’Cunha roped in to direct Aditya Roy Kapur starrer produced by Dharma Productions: Report

In a fresh update on Karan Johar’s upcoming horror venture with Aditya Roy Kapur, filmmaker Collin D’Cunha has reportedly been approached to direct the project. According to a recent report by Variety India, the film is shaping up to be an unconventional genre blend — a slasher comedy that mixes satire, witty dialogue, gore and exaggerated performances. The development adds a new layer of intrigue to the project, which was first reported by Bollywood Hungama in January. At the time, it was revealed that Aditya Roy Kapur had signed on to headline a horror thriller backed by Karan Johar’s banner, Dharma Productions. Now, with Collin D’Cunha — known for his work on Call Me Bae and Do You Wanna Partner — being considered for the director’s chair, the film is expected to lean heavily into a playful and self-aware tone while retaining elements of horror. Sources suggest the film’s style and storytelling approach could be reminiscent of the cult parody franchise Scary Movie, combining genre tropes with humour and over-the-top moments. When the project was first reported earlier this year, a source shared details about how the collaboration came together. “Karan Johar has locked a horror thriller for his banner, Dharma Productions and has roped in Aditya Roy Kapur to play the lead character. Adi read the script and didn't take long to come on board. It's a unique project, and everyone at Dharma is bullish about the theatrical prospects of the genre,” the source told Bollywood Hungama. The film is currently in the early stages of development, with pre-production work already underway at Dharma Productions. Another key element of the project — the female lead — is also reportedly being finalised. According to earlier information, the makers are in advanced discussions with a top-tier actress to star opposite Aditya Roy Kapur.Sharing further details about the timeline, the source had also revealed that the team is planning to begin filming later this year. “The prep work has already begun at Dharma, but the director's name has been kept under wraps for now”, the source had added. With Collin D’Cunha now likely to helm the film and the project reportedly leaning into the slasher-comedy genre, the collaboration between Aditya Roy Kapur and Dharma Productions appears to be shaping up as an unusual addition to the studio’s slate. The film is currently expected to go on floors in May 2026.Also Read: Pragya Kapoor on 10 years of Fitoor: “This script is a masterclass in script writing”

DSP steps down from Ustaad Bhagat Singh's background score; Thaman comes on board

The makers of Ustaad Bhagat Singh have officially clarified the recent speculation surrounding a change in the film’s music team. While Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) was initially signed to compose both the songs and the background score, he will now only be associated with the film’s soundtrack album.According to a statement issued by Mythri Movie Makers, the change comes down to scheduling constraints. The production reportedly faced delays in finalising and sending the film reels required for composing the background score. As a result, the timeline could not align with DSP’s prior commitments, making it difficult for him to complete the background work despite efforts from both sides. However, DSP’s contribution to the film remains intact through the already released tracks ‘Dekhlenge Saala’ and ‘Aura of Ustaad’, both of which have generated significant traction among fans. The production house confirmed that the decision was made with mutual consent and without any creative differences. Composer Thaman S has now been roped in to handle the film’s background score. In their statement, the makers noted that while DSP’s songs will continue to drive the album, Thaman will oversee the background music, ensuring the project stays on schedule.Headlined by Pawan Kalyan, the film is one of the most anticipated Telugu releases of the year. With its worldwide release now scheduled for March 19, 2026, the team appears focused on maintaining momentum while streamlining post-production work. Also Read: Sreeleela to begin filming Ustaad Bhagat Singh with Pawan Kalyan on June 10

Shilpa Shetty’s Personality Rights suit: Bombay HC questions legality of AI chatbots simulating celebrities

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday raised significant questions about the legality of Artificial Intelligence tools that simulate celebrity personalities without their consent, during the hearing of a personality rights suit filed by actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra. The matter, titled Shilpa Shetty v. getoutlive.in & Ors., concerns the alleged misuse of the actor’s image, voice and likeness through morphed visuals, deepfake content and AI-generated interactions. Justice Sharmila Deshmukh questioned how online platforms could permit users to “have a chat” with an AI version of a celebrity without obtaining consent from the concerned individual.“Without the permission of the personality, can you use an AI to chat with anybody in any manner? What is your right to do that?” the Court asked the lawyer appearing for an AI chatbot platform accused of misusing Shetty’s persona. When the platform’s counsel argued that its algorithm did not require permission from celebrities, the Court pressed further, drawing a distinction between users uploading content and AI systems knowingly generating simulated personalities.“This is an AI-generated platform that knows that it is not real. How can AI create somebody's personality in this manner without their permission and make it available in general public?” Justice Deshmukh observed. The Court directed the platform to file a detailed reply. In December 2025, a vacation Bench had already ordered the immediate takedown of morphed and AI-generated content misusing Shetty’s likeness across platforms. On Wednesday, the Court considered broader reliefs sought by the actor to restrain over 30 platforms, including AI services and e-commerce websites, from hosting unauthorised content. The Bench also expressed concern over YouTube commentary discussing pending court proceedings involving Shetty and her husband, questioning whether individuals had the right to comment on such matters outside recognised news reporting. The Court noted that authenticated accounts of proceedings typically come from established media houses and raised concerns about the potential for unverified content to malign parties.Counsel for Google, Tenor and the AI chatbot entity submitted that infringing URLs were removed upon notice. Shetty’s lawyer disputed this claim. The Court permitted Shetty to move an application alleging non-compliance if links remained accessible. While e-commerce platforms such as Amazon stated they would continue removing listings upon notification, the Court clarified that directions to intermediaries would operate on a “take-down on notice” basis. Tenor, which described itself as an intermediary-style GIF platform incapable of proactive monitoring, was directed to file an affidavit opposing the broader injunction. Also Read: EXCLUSIVE: Ram Gopal Varma breaks down why personality rights may not work in the AI era, calls it a “grey area”
