As the e-bike market becomes more and more crowded, prices keep rising due to the addition of high-capacity batteries and high-speed motors. This can be intimidating to first home buyers or those looking for a budget option. However, when INTHAIR first launched Colts – folding e-bike, promising to offer anyone an affordable and enjoyable high-end folding bike, I had to take a closer look.

 

The INTHAIR Colts is a class 2 electric bike with folding capability. It has a hidden removable 48V13A battery and a powerful 750W motor for acceleration on the street, all in a comfortable step through design for just $1,499. While that sounds expensive, the bike boasts a solid design, front suspension, front and rear lights, and comes with a free front basket and rear rack. Equipped with a 750W motor capable of a top speed of 28mph and a 48v13A removable battery with a range of over 55 miles on a single charge.

While the INTHAIR Colts may not outshine the competition in any one category, the company has done a great job with their first e-bike. INTHAIR has managed to combine sleek design and advanced functionality into a well thought out package at an unbeatable price.

 

I have been using INTHEAIR Colts folding ebikes to test for a while, on flat streets, or on some dirt roads and rough mountain roads. (Yes, its 20*4″ fat tires can be suitable for all-terrain) When I travel, I put it on the shelf or fold it up and put it in the trunk. It is very convenient to carry it. As a Class 2 e-bike, you can use the gas pedal, the pedals, or both. Turn on the screen, choose how much assistance you want the battery to provide, and start pedaling. Get ready to feel the 750W motor kick in and propel you forward. It only has three levels of pedal assist, with the lowest level offering only a little help while you’re riding. Then, in level 3, you can quickly reach a top speed of 28MPH even without pedalling.

 

There’s even a “push” option for long-pressing the + button, which will slowly turn the wheel and help you push and walk your bike, such as crossing a crosswalk or following a sidewalk when you’re leaving an apartment building or driveway.

 

The stepped design makes the COLTS comfortable and accessible to almost any rider, which is a big plus. The sitting position and comfortable seat make it a joy to ride, and I love being able to shift gears for extra speed, especially when going up steep hills.
