The European Film Commissions Network runs the Location Awards and the winners of its ninth edition were announced at an event during the European Film Market at the Berlin Film Festival. The Canary Islands, an autonomous region of Spain, earned recognition for La Palma, which was nominated as a filming location after Netflix thriller series La Palma shot there. Each film commission that is an EUFCN member can submit one location from their territory and La Palma won the overall EUFCN Location Award 2025. The winner was selected by the Location Awards Jury, which included Alessandro Bonino from Fremantle’s Wildside, Gail McQuillan from Blueprint Pictures, Caroline von Kühn from Oxbelly, and location managers Andrea Keener and Sue Quinn.
