A string section called the ‘Dallas Minor Trio’ kicked off the evening with a rendition of Allen’s 2008 Number 1 single ‘The Fear’, before treating the crowd to more early favourites. Advertisement These included the classics ‘LDN’ and ‘Smile’ from her 2006 debut album ‘Alright, Still’, and ‘Not Fair’, ’22’, ‘Fuck You’ and ‘Who’d Have Known’ from 2009’s ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’. The musicians aired ‘Hard Out Here’ from 2013’s ‘Sheezus’, too, as well as ‘Come On Then’ from 2018’s ‘No Shame’. Allen did not perform any of her older songs with the trio, but the lyrics were displayed on the screen so that the crowd could sing along. For the second part of the concert, Allen treated fans to ‘West End Girl’ live in its entirety following a 30-minute interval (via Setlist.FM). This part of the night featured the debut live performances of the album’s title track, ‘Ruminating’, ‘Relapse’, ‘4chan Stan’, ‘Nonmonogamummy’, ‘Dallas Major’, ‘Beg For Me’, ‘Let You W/In’ and ‘Fruityloop’. Allen had previously played ‘Madeline’ and ‘Sleepwalking’ on Saturday Night Live, and given ‘Pussy Palace’, ‘Tennis’ and ‘Just Enough’ their live debuts at a private show in LA. Recommended The singer performed to a backing track instead of having a live band in Glasgow, and appeared on a play-style set with various props. On ‘Pussy Palace’, she sang from a bed and discovered the “shoebox full of handwritten letters, from brokenhearted women wishing you could have been better” that is referenced in the lyrics. She then found a Duane Reade bag containing sex toys, butt plugs and lube.
